Apple delays the launch of its augmented reality glasses

Apple delays the launch of its augmented reality glasses

Apple’s plans to announce a mixed reality viewer (with virtual reality and augmented reality features) appear to be moving ahead apace ahead of a possible official unveiling later this year. There is, however, one highly anticipated device that could debut a little later than usual. Mark Gurman, via Bloomberg, states that the company Would have “indefinitely” postponed its first augmented reality glasses. because of “technical challenges” in product development. In return, it prepares the future launch of a more economical Apple Glass compared to what we will most likely see at WWDC.

The augmented reality glasses, to which he refers to. Bloomberg and that Apple would have delayed, are very different from the mixed reality viewer that the Cupertino company could announce during the second half of this 2023. These AR glasses, in fact, were scheduled to be announced during 2024 or 2025 as a follow-up to the reality glasses. virtual and augmented realitya, and they would also arrive with a lighter design, as the company’s goal is that the user can wear them practically all day long.

Gurman, however, has not detailed what “technical challenges” Apple is facing in the development of its AR lenses. He does state, however, that many company employees do not believe that this device will ever be officially announced..

The delay of these glasses, we reiterate, has caused the company to. decide to announce an inexpensive version of the mixed reality viewer earlier. which we could see later this year.

Interestingly, this is not the first time we hear about this device, whose price will be slightly lower than the Apple Glass that could debut this year, which would cost around $3,000. Mark Gurman, however, has offered some details that until now we did not know about this viewer. Among them, that would arrive during 2024 or 2025.
