MWC 23 Automated parking, 3D simulators, augmented reality applications and the metaverse – some of the things NTT DATA says 5G will bring  | Platforms & Technology

NTT DATA a global digital business and IT services leader will present its advances related to 5G at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, through different use cases on which it is working and with which it offers new value-added services and possibilities in areas as diverse as communications, entertainment, manufacturing, mobility and sustainability, among others.

It will also exhibit its solutions in the field of open and unbundled networks, 5G, automation, among others, with which it is positioned as one of the great pioneers of the sector in this technology that will revolutionize the world.

NTT DATA is one of the technology partners of reference for large telecommunications companies. The consulting firm has specific solutions related to the deployment, optimization and automation of 5G technology capable of adapting to different business segments and the current challenges of telecom operators and other industries. End-to-end solutions that will be shown by Telecom Infra Project, in the TIP Pavilion (Hall 5 – A40), capable of maximizing the benefits of connectivity.

Use cases driving 5G leverage

On March 1, NTT DATA experts will explain in a conference, part of the MWC agenda, the work they are carrying out with their partners and industrial customers to drive the acceleration and exploitation of 5G. In this way, use cases will be presented that will show how collaboration between industries, enabled by cloud-native smart grids, enables the development and monetization of new applications of the technology that will break the barriers to an unlimited future.

In this way, leading telecommunications companies, partners and companies from industrial sectors, will present different applications enabled by improved connectivity that offer historic opportunities to various sectors to boost their competitiveness, but also sustainability, smart manufacturing, and automation.

The real use case “Automated Valet Parking”, an automated parking project, will be explained, showing how connectivity and intelligent infrastructures can make mobility and manufacturing more efficient and sustainable, thus enabling new business approaches. And the Sport Entertainment application devised by NTT DATA and focused on sports entertainment and the use of augmented reality. Its development is due to the momentum of Network Slicing and 5G, which allows operators to offer new entertainment services to their customers. Thanks to it, a device will allow, for example, the capture and live transmission, in high image quality and in real time, of a soccer match and its simulation in 3D.

In addition, they will also present the opportunity offered by the Metaverse and augmented reality for the creation of new virtual environments useful for commerce, collaboration, practical applications, and innovation, as well as the enablers that are already available in the market in this regard.

5G for public networks

Solutions designed to help communications service providers, mobile network operators and neutral host providers to offer essential added value to customers, gaining a competitive advantage and increasing their margins will also be presented.  In this regard, Open Networks will be focused on the search for new value through innovation and network unbundling to achieve cost efficiencies, using commodity infrastructures, and driving operational excellence based on automation and orchestration.

5G to enable B2B2X ecosystems to drive monetisation

Aiming to provide a competitive advantage from innovating new services for industry, NTT DATA has developed solutions such as 5G App Framework, with which it is possible to establish a flexible and programmable environment to build, test and deliver high-performance, very low-latency services for the most demanding users in many different industry sectors – a breakthrough that combines the speed and bandwidth advantages of 5G with programmable serverless networks.

5G for vertical industries

NTT DATA will also present some of its solutions that offer specific and customized services based on 5G connectivity as a technology enabler, such as 5G Campus, which provides secure private networks to enterprise customers, using all the capabilities of enhanced mobile broadband, capable of being deployed on any hyperscale cloud platform.

Experiences in the Metaverse

On the other hand, NTT DATA will offer MWC attendees the possibility of checking the multiple applications offered by the Metaverse and on which the technology consulting firm is working for uses as diverse as aircraft maintenance, NFT art galleries, or employee on boarding processes, among others.
