3D Infotech Releases New Versions of Automation and Augmented Reality Software – Metrology and Quality News – Online Magazine
As part of its Universal Metrology Automation (UMA) platform, 3D Infotech has announced new releases of its Streamline and Spotlight AR++ software. Streamline version 1.6.3 and Spotlight version 2.2.1 extend their feature sets to support new devices, configurations, languages, and other quality inspection processes beyond dimensional metrology.
Streamline seamlessly allows users to plug-and-play a variety of robots, machine vision cameras, and 3D scanners to deploy solutions for automated inspection and is fully integrated with PolyWorks metrology suite for seamless dimensional data analysis and reporting.
The new version of Streamline offers improvements including new languages, and extended support with advanced settings for devices from LMI Technologies, Cognex, Universal Robots, and 3DI’s proprietary Astaire firmware for managing hardware platforms.
The new version of Spotlight AR++extends 3D Infotech’s capability from guided metrology workflows to guided assembly applications. Industrial users will now be able to utilize projectors on the shop floor to set up work cells where workers can easily follow step-by-step instructions on how to assemble components. Using projection-based AR technology reduces the variability in the manufacturing process and removes the need to wear specialized AR glasses. Version 2.2.1 comes with features like USB support for machine vision cameras which can be used for automatic alignment of projection maps, extended customization of the projected features, and improvements in resolution, performance, and overall user experience.
