Cyber Security Augmented Reality Will Trend In 2020 – BW Disrupt

What do you think are the barriers to adopting Cloud solutions in various sectors in India?

Cybersecurity can be the foremost concern. With cyber-attacks getting more sophisticated and complex by the day, cloud services can throw open new vulnerabilities for exploitation. This, coupled with Shadow IT factor where IT projects are managed without the knowledge of the IT department in the organisation, is susceptible to outside risks and will not give the correct picture of the resources to be moved to the cloud. Lack of complete understanding of this new technology, with no relevant skill sets and hence incomplete control of cloud computing processes, can cause delay and add to the challenge.

Non-availability of high-speed internet connectivity at an affordable cost is another road-block. In-accurate cost assessment of cloud adoption can impact during scaling up of business operations and IT infrastructure. Therefore, to ensure fruitful results, organisations should ensure the new-age technology and processes are in alignment with the employees using them.

Currently, Cloud Solutions are used to solve the social problem like traffic and provide a quick simple, secure and cashless way to travel. Can you brief us on how the cloud migration solution to solve such social issues?

Socially conscious organisations with powerful carpooling or bike platform and solutions are striving to solve problems of traffic congestion, increased transit times and air pollution by optimally leveraging resources. They provide commuters with a quick, simple, secure and cashless way to travel. As these platforms are growing rapidly with an increase in the number of customers and their growing demands that are varying too, organisations want to scale-up faster too. They look at cloud providers to ensure higher availability of applications and more number of scalability solutions that can be implemented at a faster rate with better security and significant cost savings. By associating with the right cloud solutions implementation partner, organisations can move their applications and data to that of a reliable cloud provider.

What are the common pitfalls companies/ organisations to consider while using AI solutions?

Although a good number of organisations have begun to experience the benefits of implementing AI, some common drawbacks have to be overcome for its successful implementation. With AI technology, being relatively new, there is a dearth of skilled people, thereby making hiring the right talent, a challenge.

With no significant number of use cases and required technical infrastructure challenges, there is no established model to follow and has to be worked from scratch. Moreover, many organisations are yet to recognise the needs of AI. Data quality and quantity issues are also challenging as AI systems require a large number of training datasets to identify patterns. Only after carefully considering and addressing the above issues, AI solutions can be successfully implemented.

How can data privacy & security risk be mitigated?

As we closely look into data privacy and security arena, we realise the constant challenges and risks associated with new technology. Data privacy is more concerned with authorised access, such as, who defines and whereas data security addresses unauthorised access by technically implementing the measures. With data growing exponentially, there is all the more reason to be more cautious and prepared. IoT is a major concern area, even more than network security. It is crucial to put in place an IoT readiness plan and re-examine BYOD policies. The leadership team should ensure all employees in the organisation, understand and learn about both data security and privacy risks and how to control and recover a breach. A security awareness and training programme will certainly empower employees and support organisations to mitigate security risks.

In addition to this, data loss prevention tools can ensure end-users do not leak sensitive data by mistake or deliberately to sabotage.

What are the major trends to watch in 2020?

Leveraging AI and its subset ML will increase and have more effect on our lives. AI mimics human intelligence and does tasks faster and more accurately than humans. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) will continue to automate jobs and put action into dealing with data besides doing repetitive tasks of humans. Chatbots will also be used more for customer interactions and become the norm.

Cyber-security will be on the top of mind for organisations to ensure that there are no financial or brand reputation losses. Block-chain, which has the potential to reshape industries will add more value across the business ecosystem. And Augmented Reality (AR) will bring newer experiences to consumers. On the whole, there will be an increase in IT spending in the year 2020.

What is your business model for Rapyder to succeed in the Indian market and global market?

Business model deployed by Rapyder is simple and standard. Our one-time revenue comes from cloud migration, DevOps and consulting service. Managed Services are more of recurring revenues and we are aiming to reach upto 70-80 per cent with this offering by end 2020. Our growth has been sustainable and organic with no external funding so far. Our focus is on the Indian market with clients spread across the country. However, we do have a few global customers as well. Going forward, from the year 2020 onwards, we have plans to target and serve international markets, more aggressively and create significant partnerships.

What is the vision of Rapyder in 2030?

With rapid changes in cloud technology and ongoing innovations in the space that are enabling brisk digital transformation, it is too early to indicate specify Rapyder’s areas of focus in 2030. By then, most enterprises would be leveraging the services of an external cloud-services enabler to focus on their core business growth, without having to invest in resources for the IT infrastructure environment. Several organisations will be using mobile devices to work from anywhere, anytime and businesses will partner with a cloud services company that can match the sophistication of the ecosystem that is constantly changing.

At Rapyder, we will continuously focus on building skill sets internally to ensure our solutions remain relevant and continue to add value to the customer. We will be providing end-to-end targeted business solutions and are confident to establish our leadership in the space.
