“National Building Museum is extending its Notre-Dame de Paris augmented reality exhibition until October 9.”

From the National Building Museum:

“The National Building Museum announced today that it will extend Notre-Dame de Paris: The Augmented Exhibition through Sunday, October 9, 2022. The 360-degree augmented reality exhibition, designed and produced by Histovery, in collaboration with the Public Institution in charge of the conservation and restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, and exclusively sponsored by L’Oréal, immerses visitors into the 850-year history of the cathedral and its ongoing restoration. The exhibition was originally slated to conclude on September 26 but has been extended due to popular demand.

All Notre-Dame merchandise in the Museum Shop is discounted 40% through October 11, 2022 as well.

The Museum will present two public programs about the Notre-Dame restoration efforts:

Monday September 26 from 6-7:30 PM

Notre-Dame de Paris: Rebuilding a Legacy
* In-person event at the National Building Museum

The first public lecture in the United States from the team who is responsible for the extraordinary task to stabilize and restore the iconic cathedral in the aftermath of the catastrophic 2019 fire.
Speakers include:

  • Philippe Villeneuve, Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, in charge of Notre-Dame de Paris
  • Rémi Fromont, Chief Architect of Historic Monuments
  • Lindsay Cook, Assistant Teaching Professor of Architectural History, Pennsylvania State University and translator of the book Notre-Dame Cathedral: Nine Centuries of Histories, will translate the lecture from French to English and moderate the discussion following the presentations

Tuesday, October 11 from 11 AM- 12:30 PM

The Future of Notre-Dame de Paris
* Virtual program live via Zoom

Autodesk is contributing to the conservation and restoration of the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral with design and construction solutions, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) support, an intelligent data and 3D modeling process, and technical expertise. Emmanuel Di Giacomo, AEC EMEA Ecosystem Manager and Architect at Autodesk will share details on how the creation of a historical digital model of the cathedral is changing the way architects, construction professionals, craftsmen, historians, and owners are approaching heritage preservation in the future.
